Simeonovo Lakes

Simeonovo Lakes are a group of four artificial lakes on the territory of Vitosha mountain near Sofia's Simeonovo district. They are fed by the waters of the river Simeonovska.

There is an unique ecosystem formed in the lakes. The ponds are home to various species of amphibians - great crested newt, yellow-bellied toad and others.

Today the lakes are cleaned and maintained and have become a favorite spot for local residents. There is a relaxation area with wooden tables and benches nearby. A trail for mountain biking runs around the lakes.
